UN COUNTER-TERRORISM COMMITTEE EXECUTIVE DIRECTORATE – UN LEGAL MEETING

In this unprecedented meeting, two important bodies of the United Nations, United Nations General Assembly 6th committee: Legal, and the Executive Directorate of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee will gather to debate upon the crucial matters in the field of international terrorism. While UN Legal, with its mandate on promoting international co-operation in the political field, encouraging the progressive development of international law and its codification, will bring a legal perspective to the meeting; Executive Directorate of Counter-Terrorism Committee will contribute to the committee with its high-level expertise provided by the United Nations Security Council on combating terrorism worldwide. These two bodies will be present together in this one of a kind meeting to discuss two critical issues which are complicated and have multi-dimensional characters. Formed by the participation of experts joining from the aforementioned United Nations organs, experts will try to find new approaches and lasting solutions to be introduced in various aspects of terrorism overlapping in the legal, political, and social realms.
