United Nations Security Council

United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is the primary organ of UN to maintain and promote international peace throughout the world. It consists of 15 members, 5 of which are permanent: China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Council meetings are usually held in New York. Security Council does not have any periodicity to abide; it arranges meetings whenever it deems necessary. Consequently, a representative of each member state must always be present at UN headquarters to allow Security Council the flexibility to arrange urgent meetings.
