Commission for Social Development
Commission for Social Development (CSocD) is one of the ten functional bodies of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The duty of the Commission is to advise ECOSOC policy-wise regarding current social problems that are not covered by other specialised inter-governmental agencies. It has been in operation for 61 years and consists of 46 members. It is also the key body of UN tasked with the continuation and implementation of Copenhagen Declaration and Programme of Action signed in 1995. Commission holds annual meetings in New York.
